Two arrested on charge of drug dealing

SOPHIATOWN – One suspect is linked to an attempted murder case.

Police have arrested two men for drug possession.

According to the spokesperson for Sophiatown Police Station, Warrant Officer TJ de Bruyn, the arrest on 26 July was made possible by a tipoff.

“The police received information about a wanted suspect at an address in Westbury and possible drugs.

“Members of the police from different units followed up on the information and searched the house and found 10 Mandrax pills and 126 packets of dagga in a [wooden] hut in the backyard.”

After the arrests, cases of possession of drugs were opened at the station. De Bruyn added, “One of the suspects arrested was also linked to an attempted murder case.”

The police thank the community for sharing information with them on crime-related activities in the area. They ask the community to continue doing so in order to help them eliminate crime.
