Senior citizens at MOTH Cottesloe Cottages received food parcels, clothing and blankets on 18 July.

Once the formalities were completed the festivities got underway. Residents were given their food parcels, blankets and clothing and took all in attendance on a tour of their extremely well maintained residential area.

The remainder of the day was spent sharing stories and experiences as some residents at the cottages are retired police officers and military personnel.

Rod Knight, who stays at the home, said, “This is an event many will cherish in their hearts for a long time to come. Thank you SAPS and all your supporters for a great day.”

Constable Kgatla noted that this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of their sponsors.

He thanked Afrisam, Pick n Pay Blackheath, Spar Fairland and all others who were on board to make this Mandela Day a memorable one.
