Auckland Park girls celebrate Madiba’s legacy

AUCKLAND PARK – The biggest and coolest 100 you have ever seen.

Youngsters of a local school celebrated the life and times of Madiba in marvellous fashion.

The girls at Auckland Park Preparatory School joined the world as they too celebrated the legacy of the late Nelson Mandela on 18 July.

This year the father of the nation would’ve turned 100 but the absence of the Noble Peace prize winner did not stop these girls from showing the world that they recognise his efforts towards their freedom and democracy.

The school had the girls actively participating in community development as they made sandwiches and blankets for displaced people on the streets around them.

A well spent 67 minutes of good deeds ended with the school’s girls and staff forming the number 100 on the sports field in celebration of Madiba’s 100th birthday.
