FAIRLAND – Police warn home and business owners to be careful when hiring individuals to work for/with them.

Newlands Magistrates’ Court recently convicted a man involved in a house robbery to 15 years imprisonment.

The convicted man was arrested, with an accomplice, in 2017 when he tried to rob the house he was employed to work at as a gardener.

Owners of the home in Berario alerted police when they noticed the criminal acts happening.

When the police arrived at the scene they arrested the two men. The other man involved in the incident had all charges relating to him acquitted.

Fairland police warn home and business owners to be careful when hiring individuals to work for/with them.

They advise that necessary background checks are done before fully employing someone.
