Fairland Police Station has new floodlights fitted

FAIRLAND – More visibility at night at Fairland Police Station.

New floodlights have been installed at the Fairland Police Station, by a concerned and kind resident.

After a while of darkness, the Fairland Police Station finally gets some light thanks to Halcor Electrical cc.

More light and visibility at the front street entrance at Fairland Police Station.

At a CPF meeting in May, various aspects of security were being addressed. It was said that the police station was battling at night as it was dark and most of their light fittings were not working.

Clive Maher of SCP Security reached out to Ian Hallowell of Halcor Electrical cc to help resolve the lighting issue at the police station.

“I had no problem doing this as I have lived in the area my whole life. I told Clive that we would bring back the police station to its former glory,” said Hallowell.

After a short site inspection, it was decided that 6 LED floodlights would be installed. This would bring light throughout the police station, in the parking area and the pedestrian area as well as the front street entrance.

There was some repairing and rewiring done on the circuit controlling the LED floodlights and two blue fluorescent light boxes.

“This was just a small token of appreciation for our men and women in blue,” said Hallowell.
