Generators to provide power after Northcliff residents suffer a nearly 40 hour outage

NORTHCLIFF – And there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, yet.

UPDATE: 8pm

Ward 88 committee member, Felicity Gratz-Lawler has confirmed that four generators have been organised in order to provide power to residents who have been without it for almost 40 hours.

According to Gratz-Lawler, the generators would be switched on shortly, restoring power to the area temporarily, until the cable fault is repaired.

INITIAL REPORT: 4.10pm

Residents in Northcliff, Linden, Victory Park, Roosevelt Park, Fairland, and Emmarentia have been left frustrated after yet another power outage from Roosevelt Park Substation.

This time,  many have been without power for over 30 hours. City Power says it does not have an estimated time of repair.

Ward 88 councillor, David Hensman, shared news earlier today that City Power found a second cable fault, but that it could not be repaired because said cable is ‘running under the customers’ property’.
