Progress being made at Northcliff Ridge Ecopark’s gem

NORTHCLIFF – The renovations are almost done.

The 750m pathway at The Northcliff Ridge Ecopark is nearing its renovation deadline following the progress made at the iconic Northcliff Tower. A 750m walkway has been paved and will be wheelchair-friendly.

Dave Woodhouse of the Northcliff Rotary Club, who launched and runs the renovation project, is pleased with the work done so far.

He said, “Everything is going according to plan and we are hoping to be done by mid-June.”

From the beginning, the Northcliff Rotary Club said they wanted to make the Ecopark wheelchair-friendly to enable everyone to experience the breathtaking panoramic views of Johannesburg. Woodhouse shared that there are still plans to install benches and dustbins along the pathway as part of the project.

The Ecopark has been closed off since the renovations began but Woodhouse stated that this was for security and safety reasons while the renovations were being carried out.

He said as soon as the renovations are done the park will be open to all, once again.

The 750 metre walkway is coming along as planned. Renovations to the Northcliff Ridge Ecopark are expected to be done by mid-June.

The project is still in need of funding and the Northcliff Rotary Club is pleading with the community to help them bring value to this iconic landmark.

Those interested in helping the project reach its peak are urged to contact the Eco Park Association’s Dave Woodhouse.
