Abraham Kriel Childcare alerts the public that they may have problems getting hold of the organisation telephonically.
The childcare organisation has satellite homes in Linden, Fontainebleau and Risidale.
They provide residential care and community services which focus on providing shelter, care and rehabilitation for children up to 18 years old who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty and neglect.
Its management said telephone lines were stolen in the vicinity a few weeks ago which resulted in non-functional lines.
Since then Telkom has managed to repair some of the telephone lines but not all.
This frustrated family members who wished to contact the children living at the childcare centre or the social workers that deal with them.
It was determined that the organisation’s internal telephone system was not at fault but the outside lines.
