Dash-cam footage of an armed robbery that took place in Emmarentia along Barry Hertzhog on 15 May has gone viral.
According to Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe of Parkview Police Station, four suspects robbed a victim travelling in a black bakkie. “It is alleged that the suspects followed the victim from his place of work in town,” he said.
The victim owns a cellphone shop and before following him the suspects are said to have stolen money from several cellphone shops.
Shots were fired at the scene but there were no fatalities. A case of armed robbery was opened at the station. The suspects still remain at large and Mdletshe urges the public to come forward with any information.
