Taxi and motor vehicle collide leaving 13 injured in Roosevelt Park
ROOSEVELT PARK – Patients suffered minor to moderate injuries in the collision.
Thirteen people were taken to Helen Joseph Hospital this morning after they were involved in a collision between a taxi and a motor vehicle.
The incident occurred at the Beyers Naudé Drive and Milner Avenue intersection in Roosevelt Park.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on scene to find the taxi and vehicle parked on the pavement.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, the occupants from both vehicles were found seated on the sidewalk.
“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that all 13 had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene,” said Meiring.
The patients were treated for their injuries and transported to hospital for further care. Law enforcement was on scene to investigate the cause of the incident.
