Mother’s Day is just around the corner and Kindness Like Confetti’s (KLC) Alyson Samson has yet another surprise planned for the ladies in the community’s old age homes.
“For Mothers Day this year, we are collecting tubes of hand cream and bars of soap for all the precious ladies in retirement homes,” she said.
Since many scarves have already been donated to KLC, Samson plans to hand these out as well.
KLC takes in all sorts of donations and gives them to relevant organisations to distribute to people who need them most.
The organisation does not only act as a facilitator but also goes out into the community to hand out much-needed items as well as feed those in need.
If you would like to add a little something extra, individually gift wrap the hand cream or soap so that each mom has a little gift to open on Mother’s Day.
This is the third year Samson has focused on old age homes for Mother’s Day. She, along with a group of volunteers, will deliver the gifts to about 10 homes in the area.
“So many of these ladies get dumped and don’t get visited. So it can be very emotional,” she said.
