Greenhill Pharmacy wants the community to have a healthy heart

EMMARENTIA – Pharmacy wants to encourage the community to know about their health

The Medicare Greenhill Pharmacy in Emmarentia is running a Healthy Heart Campaign this month.

The pharmacy’s campaign started in March and encourages members of the community to get a medical assessment of their blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar and glucose (fasting or non-fasting) and BMI (Body Mass Index). This will allow the pharmacy to calculate the age of the patient’s heart based on how healthy they are versus their actual age.

“Upon receiving the results from your heart assessment, our clinic sister also offers advice and assistance in improving those results with a range of non-scheduled or scheduled medications,” said the pharmacy’s Shaaziyaa Mayat.

“On 14 April from 9am, many of the neighbouring stores around the pharmacy will be contributing in various ways and even surrounding practitioners adding value. There will be talks by various doctors and specialists and members are able to ask questions or communicate with them. Entertainment will include a comedian, competitions, face painting for the children and so much more.”

The day will be free for Discovery Vitality members who will be able to earn vitality points.

If a person is not a Discovery member, the assessment costs just R99 including a free follow-up assessment voucher worth R250.

Community members who arrive in pairs will be charged R50.
