Trinity Methodist Church Easter cantata set to entertain audiences

LINDEN – Gather your friends and family for the annual Ester cantata hosted at Trinity Methodist Church.

The Trinity Methodist Church is hosting their annual Easter cantata, with a theme entitled Behold the Lamb – An Easter Musical.

Lay minister Brett Mordaunt said the cantata is a story told through music and song. Composed by Don Krueger, he worked with arranger Larry Mayfeild and director Neil Bennett.

The musical takes its listeners through parts of the life of Jesus Christ and his triumph over death to his resurrection. All residents are welcome as well as their family and friends.

“This is a story of faith for all Christians, listening to it through song brings the story to life. This is an annual event which takes place every year just before Easter and happens at Trinity as a special Sunday service. It not only delights our congregation but also reminds us of the Passion of Christ for Easter,” said Bennett.

The church also hosts their annual Christmas Cantata during the festive season.

He added the event is planned and practised by one of the church choirs, who have been practising for weeks.

Every year different soloists from the choir are selected to lead certain parts of the presentation. This year Val Hardisty, Michelle Tippett, Helen Thorne and Allan Wright have been chosen.

“The cantata is free to attend and takes place on Palm Sunday, 25 March at 8am and is repeated at 9.30am. For more information on the service, contact Trinity Church,” said Bennett.
