10 bursaries available for Class of 2017 female matriculants

JOBURG – N1 engineering bursaries are available for 10 class of 2017 matriculants, specifically for black females.

The matric results have come out and some matrics still don’t know what they will be doing during their first year as school-leavers.

The Growth Institute, a workplace integrated training solutions company, have 10 bursaries available for the Class of 2017 who would like to study N1 engineering.

The bursary seeks specifically to assist black females in Johannesburg who will be able to attend classes at their Northcliff campus.

The company is also looking for engineering-related companies where students can gain practical experience as part of the bursary.

The Growth Institute explained that the companies that wish to host students, do not have to pay towards their stipends as the cost has already been included in each bursary. Each student will receive R60 000.

Candidate requirements:

  • Must have matriculated in 2017
  • Must live in Gauteng and be able to attend classes at the Northcliff campus
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must not have a matric from a technical school, as the certificate is already above N1.

Matric pass requirements:

  • Mathematics – 60 per cent
  • English – 60 per cent
  • Physical science – 60 per cent.

Candidates can apply online on The Growth Institute website. The final decision regarding the bursary will be made by the Growth Group directors.
