Morning market showcases residents’ creativity

ROOSEVELT PARK – Market morning welcomes everyone keen on buying lovely items.

Gem Homes for Senior Citizens, a non-profit organisation which improves residents’ quality of life, will host a morning market at their establishment in Roosevelt Park.

This is the first market the organisation will host and it will feature a number of exciting activities and features from 8.30am to 2 pm.

Publicity consultant for the organisation, Katharine Kruger said the stage in the conference lounge will be converted into a coffee lounge, while the veranda will be converted into a food court where people can relax and socialise.

The stalls will feature handmade and homegrown items with plenty of delectable eats on sale. All proceeds from the market will be donated towards the residents of the organisation.

“The market is an opportunity to raise funds for themselves, through the items they sell. The bookstore and charity store will also be open. We will also have a white elephant table where people can buy items donated by people. All funds raised will go back into assisting with maintaining the property,” said Kruger.

Kruger said people can also look forward to the talented artist who will draw people’s portraits in under 30 miniutes.

“The market which will take place every Saturday of every second month welcomes families and their pets. There is no entrance fee.”
