However, about a half hour into the launch, the upmarket shopping centre experienced a power failure which led to an abrupt end to the launch.
This did not deter those who had come in full support of the book and its author. Many remained behind for a book signing in the dark and a brief opportunity to meet Pauw.
The controversial book which details the alleged shenanigans and exposes the darkest secrets of the president of South Africa and the people who allegedly keep him in power, has already received a cease and desist order from the State Security Agency.
This is an official order handed down by a government agency or court directing a person or entity to stop doing something immediately.
However, the publishing company, NB Publishers, has made it clear that it will not withdraw the book.
In a statement, Exclusive Books CEO Benjamin Trisk expressed gratitude to attendees and complimented them on their behaviour following the unforeseen setback.
He said an investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the power failure.
