Donate sanitary products to women in need

LINDEN – Can you afford to buy extra sanitary products? Help others.

By the time young women hit high school, most have already experienced their first menstrual cycle but not every girl has access to sanitary products.

Kindness Life Confetti (KLC) collects sanitary products which are distributed to young women in school as well as women in low-income communities.

Sanitary products are stored to give to women and girls in need.

KLC founder, Alyson Samson, collects sanitary products both from community members and also salvages sanitary products from major retailers sent back to factories for having minor packaging defects.

After salvaging the products, they are inspected and repackaged into clear bags and are distributed to women in need.

“Being able to buy sanitary products is such a simple thing that many of us take for granted, but have you considered what the impact is for those who cannot afford to?” said Samson.

Sanitary pads are packaged by Kindness Life Confetti.

In some low-income communities, it is not uncommon for girls to stay home when experiencing their menstrual cycle. If and when these girls do not have access to sanitary products, they are forced to use unhygienic methods to manage their menstruation cycle or miss school.

Samson urged women who buy sanitary products to go the extra mile and buy one or two extra packets the next time they go out shopping as it makes a big difference in another girl’s life.
