Sergeant Mpho More of the Florida Police Station told Northcliff Melville Times that there have been no further developments regarding Beneke’s abduction and murder.

She explained that a Magaliesburg farmer was travelling in the area when he saw smoke coming from nearby bushes. When he went to investigate the cause of the smoke, he found a white Nissan Navara – the same vehicle Beneke was last seen in – with Beneke’s body outside the car.

“He was burned beyond recognition and it seems like he was tied up,” More said.

The incident has left police in the dark as to the motive behind the murder as Beneke’s car was not taken but set alight.
