Manhattan, a musical production DSJ learners bring to life

PARKTOWN – A musical theatre production came to life as schoolchildren explore their musical side.

Schoolchildren of the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg learners explored their musical theatre side in the musical Manhattan.

The cast was full of talent, enthusiasm and professionalism from grade 3 to 12 children. The fast-paced narrative, strong characters and artistically talented dancers made it two exciting evenings of musical theatre.

The production is based on the darkly twisted world of misplaced celebrity. It’s a show rich with leading roles, both big and small. Thanks go to the gifted scriptwriter and director Bianca Schulte-Brader, choreographer and dance teachers Mandy Newell and technical director Devon Welmers.

The standard was elevated from a high-school production to a polished performance.
