Spring has sprung and all the children at Northcliff Nursery School have their Spring hats ready to keep them cool and stylish this season.
Fun and unique hats filled the playground as the children were encouraged to create their favourite spring hats. Renate Alberts, principal of the nursery school said, “It is important for the children to exercise sun protection.” Which is why they chose to have a hat day.
Children made their hats with the help of parents and siblings and brought them to school. Alberts said, “It was a creative way to celebrate spring and encourage families to get involved. Some of the parents even dropped off their children wearing their own funky spring hats,” she added.
As it was a spring theme, many of hats included flowers. Once everyone had shown off their hats, they had a picnic on the playground where they put their hats to good use. The teachers, assistant and staff of the school also joined in to welcome spring.
