It rained winter parcels in Westdene for Mandela Day

WESTDENE – 245 parcels were handed out to two old age homes.

Elderly residents of Eeufees Oord Old Age Home in Westdene had their share of Nelson Mandela Day celebrations and received special winter parcels on 25 July.

The contents were collected and put together by Kindness Like Confetti.

“We put together these parcels on Mandela Day. The day was hosted by one of my supporters, Regan McKenzie,” said Alyson Samson of Kindness Like Confetti.

Each parcel contained packets of instant soup, a fleece scarf, a pair of socks and a packet of biscuits.

Rolled up scarves are handed out to the elderly.

A total of 245 parcels were put together and were shared not only with Eeufees Oord but with Jordan House Old Age Home in Westbury as well.

While many Nelson Mandela Day projects last for one day or once-off donations are handed over, Kindness Like Confetti visits Eeufees every Tuesday to give them homemade meals.

They have also taken Jordan House as well as various other organisations under their wing to make a difference in the community.
