Tears fell as the extended family greeted their loved ones and reminded them of their support every step of the way. After candles were lit in remembrance of the family, Rezine Naidoo was the first to speak.

He thanked the community, family and friends for being there from the beginning.

“To see you here, you have no idea how much this means to me and I really am feeling love right now. Thank you so much for being there for my family,” Naidoo said.

As a result of the various religious denominations present at the prayer gathering, each religion was represented and had a chance to share aspects of their beliefs with the community. A second cousin to both Melanie Jansen and Gregory Naidoo spoke and told of how the family started out in humble beginnings in Newclare and later moved to Lenasia.

Rezine Naidoo, son of the deceased Gregory Naidoo addresses Northcliff and thanks them for their support.

What was abundantly clear at the gathering was that the Naidoo family had a great impact in the community and are greatly loved by the Northcliff community.
