Easter fun at Joburg libraries

JOBURG – Libraries are ready for the Easter break following a very successful library week at libraries in the city.

Holiday programmes are set up and ready to go at the City of Johannesburg’s 87 libraries.

During the Easter break, story hours, puppet shows, face painting and programmes focusing on safety at home will be available for children between the ages of three and 15 years old.

The City’s MMC for Community Development, Nonhlanhla Sifumba said children would be less exposed to criminality when they participated in these programmes.

“Not only are these programmes removing children from the streets, but also educating and enhancing their reading skills to be better readers,” she said.

The department had just successfully completed programmes that ran throughout national library week from 18 to 25 March.
