Stand-out achievements

AUCKLAND PARK – Auckland Park Preparatory School congratulates its children who participated in national and provincial sporting events throughout the year.

Auckland Park Preparatory School celebrates as their children achieved sports accolades in both the national and provincial sports arenas.

The all-girls school boldly showed off the success of the children who had either achieved nationally or provincially.

The girls participated in provincial acrobatics, provincial karate, South African girls’ chess, South African acrobatics, district hockey, provincial rhythmic gymnastics, South African martial arts, Southern Gauteng hockey and provincial gymnastics.

School secretary, Kate Becker congratulated the sports enthusiasts for a great year of sport in the country and the province in their respective fields. She said that all facets of school life were considered.

“We embrace academics, culture and sports fully and consider them as equally important.”

Becker added that Auckland prep is a small school and is very proud of the number of national and provincial players.

Each year, the players have a full year of winter and summer sports that they attend as part of their extra murals.

Becker hoped that the girl’s success inspired others to follow suit. She also believes that sport can enrich one’s life.

“Many of life’s lessons are learnt on the sports field.”

She added that one of the biggest motivators was achieving a goal one had set for themselves.

Becker concluded that she hoped that the girls take the lessons learnt on the sports field out into the world beyond junior school.
