BREAKING: Homeless man stabbed to death outside Checkers

EMMARENTIA – A tragic incident happens before residents' eyes. Read what occurred to a homeless man outside Checkers.

UPDATE: THE NORTHCLIFF MELVILLE TIMES HAS SINCE LEARNED THAT THE MAN IN QUESTION IS ALIVE IN HOSPITAL. THE INITIAL REPORT WAS BASED ON AN EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT. 

A homeless person was allegedly stabbed outside Checkers on the corner of Barry Hertzog Avenue and Luzi Lane in Emmerentia.

This incident took place after 11am today, 30 March, in the full view of customers and residents.

Details are sketchy at this stage as to what led to the fatal stabbing, however, the resident confirmed that paramedics were on the scene assisting the homeless person.
Parkview Police Station spokesperson, Captain Tinswalo Sibeko, is yet to confirm the incident and the Northcliff Melville Times is awaiting official comment from Checkers.
