Horticultural Society talks bird rescue and gardening this April

JOHANNESBURG – The non-profit organisation, The Horticultural Society, will host Kerri Wolter and Paul Vonk this April to talk about bird rescue and gardening.

 

The Horticultural Society will host Kerri Wolter of Vulture Rescue on 12 April at 7.30pm at the Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre.

The 100-year-old society, which started out as the Transvaal Horticultural Society, is an established garden club with around 100 members who meet three times a month.

The society will also host Paul Vonk who will provide the latest ideas on bulbs and seeds on 26 April at 9.30am at The Floreum, Johannesburg Botanic Gardens, Olifants Road, Emmarentia.

The non-profit organisation also hosts two flower shows annually at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in spring and autumn which is judged by a qualified horticulturalist and is open to the public.

The centre is situated on Preller Drive in Roosevelt Park.
