Joint operation sees sophiatown precinct less of drugs and weapons

SOPHIATOWN – Sophiatown Police Station conduct a joint operation with private security to rid the streets of dangerous weapons and drugs.

The station joined forces with Best Secure, ADT, SCP, Beagle Watch and Bosmont Street Patrollers.

 

Along with the drugs, they confiscated three knives and five pairs of scissors. Warrant Officer TJ de Bruyn said they also arrested one person for drug dealing.

He urged the public to help the fight against crime by reporting any criminal activity by phoning the emergency numbers.
