One Book One Learner campaign

JOBURG – Organisations partner in order to make the One Book One Learner campaign a success.

JOBURG – The South African Mathematics Foundation (SAMF), in partnership with Palanga Publishing, aims to solve mathematical problems by conducting a One Book One Learner workshop for teachers and pupils.

Palanga Publishing’s training academy sponsors workshops and supplies the books for this exciting and highly effective project.

The publishing group launched the One Book One Learner campaign in 2013 and since then, they’ve conducted over 250 learner workshops and over 80 teacher workshops across the country using the My Maths Buddy dictionary.

Palanga Publishing managing director, Paul Sondergaard said, in life, if you understand something really well, you enhance your chances of success.

“The campaign brings a rapid conceptual understanding of maths terminology, hence the fast increase in confidence, ability and results that have been recorded.”

Schoolchildren can look forward to easy-to-understand, colourful mathematical illustrations they can use to decode mathematical terms.

Complex mathematical concepts are explained using clear illustrations, in order to help them fully understand the terminology of mathematics.

He said there is a need for mathematical organisations to collaborate and improve the quality of mathematics education in schools around the country.

SAMF executive director professor, Johann Engelbrecht said that SAMF, as a national office for mathematics, is looking forward to many teachers and schoolchildren workshops this year and is happy to partner with Palanga Publishing.
