Business owner fights unemployment

WESTDENE – Businessman empowers the youth and creates jobs.

WESTDENE – Adriaan Fouche took a leap of faith and pursued his dream of owning his own business, having financial freedom and helping unemployed youth.

Fouche, who grew up in Westdene, said the area has changed drastically. He went to primary school and high school in surrounding areas and has had to adapt to changes in his community.

Growing up in the area inspired him to succeed and achieve financial freedom for himself and his family by establishing Magnitude Group in 2014 – and which now has branches in different cities. He initially acquired his skills from a company called The Unlimited.

“Although I’ve always had a dream of owning my own business, I never thought I would because I didn’t have capital investments or the mentorship. I became a business owner in 2014. We provide insurance products of exceptional value across health, family and automotive [industries] at an unbelievably affordable price that average South Africans can afford,” said Fouche.

He employs about 150 people, who either do not have a qualification, are not employable due to lack of work experience, or those that cannot afford college or varsity education. Fouche empowers the youth and supports creches and NGOs.

“As a strategic partner licensed to sell Unlimited services, the Unlimited Child project is very close to my heart. This is an NGO that provides ongoing support to 923 creches, has trained 3 006 practitioners, to date, impacting 116 800 children, who receive countless educational toys. We are shifting lives and ensuring the country’s future through the fundamentals required earlier on in life,” said Fouche.

He believes unemployment is not just a problem in South Africa, but also worldwide, and that if society can mentor and create more entrepreneurs, more young people can get skills.
