Roosevelt High School’s jubilant Matrics achieve 100

ROOSEVELT PARK – The classs of 2016 at Roosevelt High School excels.

Roosevelt High School achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for 2016.

Jubilant faces and echoes of loud cheer filled the school as the Matric class collected their certificates on 5 January.

Principal of the school, Willie de Wet said that he was ecstatic that the Matrics managed to achieve this great feat. “Work to get the Matrics ready for final their Matric year started when they were in Grade 11,” he explained.

He said the Matrics’ success was not only due to their stern commitment to do well but also due to the teachers who worked in their free time to ensure the learners did their best.

De Wet said that the challenge now lies in keeping the 100 per cent pass momentum going.

A whopping 80 per cent of the learners received Bachelor’s Degree passes. Top achiever, Shalom Brown, achieved seven distinctions.

De Wet concluded that he is extremely proud of the class of 2016 and hopes they all go on to achieve even greater feats.
