URGENT: Supplies needed for flood victims

JOBURG – Please bring items to our offices today to help flash flood victims.

The massive storm that caused flash floods last night (9 November) in various parts of Johannesburg has caused major damages and resulted in many residents being stranded. Flights out of OR Tambo International Airport were delayed and four people are reported to have drowned.

Ward 97 councillor Amelia Bester said that she is at the Sandton Fire Station where they are trying to help people who have lost their belongings in the floods.

Residents are urged to please help out fellow residents with building materials, food parcels, sanitary items for women and clothes. “There is a woman here, whose children are left without school shoes,” said Bester.
