People in possession of a green South African passport can access 60 countries visa-free, with an additional 31 countries operating a visa-on-arrival system.
Germany and Sweden top the global list of countries with the strongest passports – having access to 158 countries visa-free.
South Africa is ranked third in Africa, behind Seychelles (124 countries), and Mauritius (118 countries).

South Africans now need visas to get into New Zealand, the change was made after ‘an increase in the number of SA nationals who have been refused entry at the NZ border in comparison to other visa waiver countries’. Travelers to New Zealand using South African passports will require visitor visas as of November 21.
