Northcliff Rotary Public Speaking competition

NORTHCLIFF – Various schools participated in the annual Northcliff Rotary Public Speaking Competition.

De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School Grade 7 head girl, Sinead Mahony won the prepared speech section at the Northcliff Rotary Public Speaking Competition with Jenna Epstein of St Teresa’s School as runner-up.

The competition, which is in its 35th year, took place at De La Salle Holy Cross College. This year Greenside, Constantia, Northcliff and Bryandale primary schools took part along with Sacred Heart College, St Teresa’s and De La Salle.

“It was a really fun evening. I would like to thank the Rotary who organises this competition every year, and well done to all of the speakers who participated in the event,” said Mahony.

Dean Govender of Northcliff Rotary who was the convener of the competition presented the winners and runners-up with beautifully illustrated dictionaries as well as vouchers for Exclusive Books.
