Teary goodbye for Gugu

BROMHOF – Friends and family of Gugu Zulu say goodbye to him at a tearful service at Rhema Bible Church.

Tears flowed at the funeral service of the late Gugu Zulu held at Rhema Bible Church. The service held on 28 July was attended by celebrities and dignitaries as the race car driver was laid to rest. Zulu’s cousin Sipho Zulu had to leave the stage as he was too emotional to speak. Zulu’s widow Letshego was flanked by family members. Minister of Sports Fikile Mbalula, Mayor Parks Tau, and several celebrities the likes of Loyiso Bala, Brighton Ngoma and Nkanyiso Bhengu attended the service. Zulu was laid to rest at Westpark Cemetry.

Zulu passed away while trying to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in a bid to raise awareness for the Caring4Girls sanitary pads programme. He was survived by his wife Letshego and one-year-old daughter.
