Tails wag at Marks Park

EMMARENTIA – Marks Park played host to an array of dogs breeds, along with horses and exoctic fish in lieu of Wodac.

Wagging tails, wet noses and sloppy wet kisses were the order of the day at the media preview of World of Dogs and Cats (Wodac) Pet Expo.

The much-anticipated event will be open to the public from 15–17 July at the Gallagher Estate.

The annual event is now in its 21st year and each year it gets bigger and cuter. Dog lovers, breeders and spectators should ready themselves for a four-legged experience to remember.

The preview, which was held at Marks Park on 6 July, had the media interact not only with dogs of different breeds but with exotic fish, horses and snakes.

The expo itself will cater to an array of needs for animal lovers. They will get the opportunity to learn about animal breeds that will suit their families. Public relations officer for Wodac, Leigh Angelo said that visitors will get up, close and personal with popular breeds of dogs and cats. “They will speak to top breeders and receive expert advice on the latest animal products,” said Angelo.

She explained that there would be a hall of dogs, hall of cats, equine area and another space for snakes and reptiles. Angelo expressed that the expo would enrich visitors on the benefits of owning exotic pets, birds, reptiles, rodents and aquatic creatures like champion Koi fish.

“This is also a great opportunity for pet owners to speak to animal behaviourists to learn how to keep their pets happy and healthy,” added Angelo.

The expo will also include, the Dogs of the World parade, agility demonstrations, dancing dogs, equine performances, national cat show and grooming displays among many other attractions.
