Sparrows Schools boasts new principal

MELVILLE – Sparrows School Educational Trust introduces a new leader.

Sparrows Schools Educational Trust appointed a new leader in Leona Krishna, who takes the role of principal at the Foundation School in Melville.

Krishna will be responsible for managing, supervising, and developing a broad array of activities, ensuring quality curriculum delivery as well as extra mural activities.

Founder of the trust, Jackie Gallaher said they are excited to work with Krishna, who has spent the last 17 years in various educational fields. “Her experience has provided her with essential tools to be able to lead and develop the foundation school, so that we can continue to meet the ever-evolving needs of our pupils,” she said.

Krishna started her journey with the school about three years ago as a facilitator, assessor and moderator having then been head of department for Jules High School. Gallaher explained that Krishna holds a Bachelor of Education in educational management law and systems. “She also has a Higher diploma in home economics and a diploma in educational management,” said Gallaher.

Gallaher concluded that Krishna will focus on creating an environment to stimulate learning, and leadership among staff members. “She will also provide a positive learning environment for all pupils, in addition to strengthening partnerships with stakeholders.”
