Johannesburg Water would like to inform residents about the modified times of level-two water restrictions.
Johannesburg Water communications officer, Eleanor Mavimbela, said that all areas in the Joburg metropolitan will be affected by the modified times that have been implemented with immediate effect.
“Due to the approaching winter season, level-two water restrictions times have changed from 6am till 6pm, to 8am till 4pm every day. Other parts of the water restrictions bylaws, still apply to all residents,” said Mavimbela.
Meanwhile residents are reminded that level-two water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.
Level-two water restrictions, according to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaws, states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:
n Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 6am and 6pm every day
n Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water
n Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars and paved areas.
So far, Johannesburg Water is currently investigating 119 cases in contravention of level-two water restrictions.
