A pedestrian was robbed and allegedly ‘kidnapped’ on Conrad Drive in Blairgowrie on the morning of 27 April at about 7:30am.
Louis Grobler, spokesperson for Security and Practise, an information database for crime reports, said that the victim was accosted by three men driving a white Toyota Camry with an unknown registration number.
Captain Alex Vermaak from Linden Police confirmed that a case of armed robbery is being investigated and not a case of kidnapping. “The man was walking around on Conrad Drive when he was approached,” said Capt. Vermaak. He added that the man was threatened with a firearm and after not wanting to hand over his belongings he was put into a car. Capt. Vermaak further said that it was not a planned kidnapping.
According to Grobler, the men drove around with the victim until they dropped him off on Consuenol Drive after they stole his laptop, tablet, cellphone and cash.
