MUST READ: 10 Children injured in Northcliff taxi accident

NORTHCLIFF – Ten school children sustain minor injuries when their taxi collided with a light motor vehicle.

Ten school children were injured the morning of 29 April after a taxi and light motor vehicle collided at the corner of Acacia Road and Ebony Drive in Northcliff.

According to spokesperson, Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics, along with another ambulance service, arrived on the scene and found that a taxi and light motor vehicle had collided. “The taxi was found lying on its side while the light motor vehicle was found on the side of the road,” said Meiring.

Meiring added that on assessment, paramedics found that the taxi had been carrying children, aged between five and 13 years of age to school when the collision occurred. “Paramedics assessed the children and found that all ten had sustained only minor injuries in the collision. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were reported,” said Meiring.

According to Meiring, local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

Police were contacted for comment but were unable to confirm details at the time of publication.
