Mayor candidate visits Roosevelt Park

ROOSEVELT PARK – DA mayor candidate visits sub-station and fire station to take care of possible issues and to meet residents.

The DA’s candidate for mayor of Joburg, Herman Mashaba paid a visit to the Roosevelt Park Fire and Ambulance Station and the Roosevelt Park sub-station on 28 April along with Ward 88 Councillor, Pat Richards.

The aim of the visit was for Mashaba to observe what some of the issues in the city are and how to address them.

James Lorimer, from the Linden Constituency of the DA accompanied the group to bring some of his issues to light. Some residents from the Northcliff area also attended the visit to meet Mashaba and make him aware of some of the issues that they are experiencing.

“As a candidate, it is a part of my responsibility to know what the issues in the community are and how to address them,” said Mashaba. He explained that many community members are complaining about the poor emergency services and the response time of these services, especially the ambulance services. “The response time of these services is not acceptable,” said Mashaba.

He added that it is his aim to invest in the troublesome infrastructures, including intensive training for the workers of these infrastructures. “We need to serve people of the community with pride,” said Mashaba. He explained that the DA will make it their slogan to say that they serve with pride. “I want people to look forward to going to work as they know they will serve the community with pride,” said Mashaba.

Mashaba added that people want to see a change in Joburg and that it can only happen if people vote. “We need to change the government and we need the help of the community to do this,” said Mashaba. He added that there needs to be terms and consequences for all servants of the community. Mashaba said that he wants members of the community to know that the ruling government and even the DA should have terms. “If they do not do their jobs they need to go,” concluded Mashaba.
