A suspect who was arrested on Beyers Naudé Drive and Corner Vincent Road was remanded in custody after a brief appearance at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.

The suspect was with two accomplices who got away after an alleged burglary at a business premises on 17 April. He was arrested by Beagle Watch reaction officer, Solly Mbombi, who swiftly responded to a panic signal received from the security company’s client.

It was established during the incident that suspects allegedly broke a glass to gain access to the business premises and then proceeded to remove a plasma TV and office equipment.

“It’s all down to team work and great support from our clients who were alerted to the fact and called it in,” said Hein Breytenbach manager of the Beagle Watch control room.

“It’s standard policy to help all in need in our areas of operation, whether they are a client or not. Great teamwork and quick reaction from our clients in reporting a crime is working well and allows us to be on the scene within minutes. Timing is what it is all about in order to make an arrest,” he concluded.

Captain Alex Vermaak from Linden Police Station said the suspect was remanded in custody. “His accomplices got away but he is linked with other crime incidents,” he said.
