Egg-cellent Easter Egg Drive for charity

VICTORY PARK – 3200 Eggs collected by De La Salle Holy Cross College High School made their way to various charities this weekend.

This Easter many disadvantaged children would not have had a chance to share in the joy of Easter with Easter eggs. De La Salle Holy Cross College High School in Victory Park launched an Easter Egg Drive for disadvantaged children.

The Egg Drive, run by the College’s Outreach Committee ran over two weeks and was hugely successful and well-supported by the pupils. A total of 3200 eggs were delivered in time for Easter to many charities in the area.

Woodside Sanctuary for the Physically and Mentally Disabled, Nazareth House Children’s Home, Sunshine Safe Houses and Little Eden Home all received Easter eggs courtesy of De La Salle Holy Cross College.

“We are delighted to be able to bring the sweet taste of Easter to these children, because of the generosity of our school families,” said Jeanette Preston-Whyte, the teacher in charge of outreach at the college.
