Northcliff squashes Egoli at Easter Festival

NORTHCLIFF – High-intensity squash leaves spectators pleased.

A great round of games was seen between the girls’ squash teams of Egoli Development and Northcliff High School in their match-up at the St Stithians College Easter Sports Festival.

The contest on 26 March started with Northcliff’s Relashni Musamy taking on Egoli’s Hlamalani Hlungwani. Both players proved to be skilled in the sport with Hlungwani proving to have a solid backhand which allowed for her to create kill shots.

The speed picked up and Northcliff’s Musamy made Hlungwani work hard to retrieve the ball. The close match ultimately ended with Musamy reaching three games first, with the score 3 – 1.

After all of the matches between the two outfits, Northcliff landed up winning 20 – 7, which meant they won five out of six matches against Egoli.

Northcliff coach Heather Kibble said, “Our players showed a great amount of spirit and skill, I am so proud of the determination they showed during the games.”
