New Sector 4 leaders elected

LINDEN – Elected CPF candidates to be checked for criminal records.

Linden Police Station met with residents to select a new chairperson, a deputy chairperson and a secretary for the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF).

Sector 4 CPF sub-forum consists of residents from Cresta, Darrenwood, Windsor and Kelland. The community from all these areas met up at the police station for the election that will lead to a more structured and organised sector.

The Sector 4 CPF candidates were elected in the presence of the community and Linden Police. Louise Mynhandt, a resident of Windsor was elected the chairperson, Bulcan Mufamadi from Windsor was elected deputy chairperson and Rochelle van der Ross, also from Windsor, was elected the secretary of the CPF sub-forum. Thabo Thipe who is CPF coordinator for all clusters was also in attendance to facilitate the process of the elections.

“I am looking forward to making a difference in the sector and the problem area Windsor,” said Mynhandt. She said that they have a list of problems and issues that residents are facing, they will prioritise as a committee and tackle the issues one by one.

“We will meet in April to again to mobilise the community and deal with the issues of crime,” said Linden SAPS Sergeant Orden Masupa.

The three candidates elected were the choice of the community forum. Also present at the meeting was the Linden SAPS Policing Head Zaid Musthan and Major Mlindeni Luthuli.
“All the candidates that were elected will go through a screening process to check if they have a criminal record,” said Sgt Masupa. Linden SAPS wants to ensure that the community is dealing with honourable and truthful candidates, concluded Masupa.
