Robbers make off with cash, jewellery and firearm

NORTHCLIFF – Robbers tie family up and make off with valuables.

Florida Police are looking for three suspects who are wanted in connection with a robbery that happened at Lange Avenue in Northcliff.

Communications officer for Florida Police Station, Captain Lydia Mtila-Dikolomela said that three unknown men gained entry into a house and pointed firearms at the complainant in the morning of 7 March. She added that police arrived on the scene at around 8:30am after receiving information on the SAPS radio control.

“Upon the arrival of the Florida Police, the complainant explained how one of the three suspects, all armed with pistols pointed a firearm at him and ordered him to get into the house,” she said. Capt Mtila-Dikolomela said the victim was led to the main bedroom where he further alleged that the suspect took his firearm, which was in his possession.

“The complainant, his wife, son-in-law and a friend were then tied up. The suspects ransacked the house and took among other things: laptops, cell phones, a tablet, jewellery, ID documents, passport, driver’s and firearm licences,” she added.

Capt Mtila-Dikolomela said that the investigation was ongoing and urged members of the public to contact them if they had any further information.
