Quest Swimmers are a stroke above the rest

NORTHCLIFF – Records were broken and many medals were awarded to the talented swimmers of Quest Swim Academy.

Pupils of Quest Swim Academy from Northcliff reaped in gold medals in the South African Christian Schools Sport Association National Gala, also known as SACSSA, at Delville swimming pool in Germiston.

In the gala, held on 5 March, each swimmer received nine medals on average and Quest Swim Academy claimed 56 medals overall. With these results, Quest Swim Academy came second overall, out of all the South African provinces that took part.

Quest swimmer, Tyler Buffel broke the record for the 50m breaststroke, while fellow Quest swimmer, Dagyn Davis-Hannibal broke four records: the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m relay backstroke and 200m relay freestyle, and was runner-up for senior victor ludorum. Jordan Buffel received runner-up for the junior victrix ludorum and Qaylah Bell received the senior victrix ludorum title.

Davis-Hannibal said, “This gala was a platform to see where we are and if we are ready for regionals and nationals. I feel I am definitely ready.”

Quest Swim Academy Coach Wayne Davis-Hannibal said, “It was a great gala with our hard working and dedicated swimmers. They achieved their goals due to their determination and commitment.”
