23 suspects arrested over the weekend

LINDEN – Suspects arrested on several charges appear at the Randburg Magistrates' Court.

Linden Police arrested 23 suspects in Windsor East, Cresta Shopping Mall and Robin Hills over the weekend.

The suspects were aged between 19 and 34 years and were arrested for various offences in and around Linden over the weekend.

Eight suspects were arrested for reckless and negligent driving at an operation held on 5 February in the evening. SAPS together with JMPD and other external stakeholders raided the streets and flats in Windsor East and 10 illegal immigrants were brought to book.

While police were conducting stop and search routines, three suspects were searched and found with dagga. One suspect was arrested for dealing in liquor without a valid licence and the liquor was confiscated. One more suspect was arrested for housebreaking and robbery, which occurred on 5 February in Robin Hills and two suspects were arrested for shoplifting at Cresta Shopping Centre.

“Suspects appeared at Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 8 February,” said Linden corporate communications officer Constable Carol Mulamu.
