Help those who cannot help themselves

ROOSEVELT PARK – Attorneys ask other companies to give back to the community.

Local business, Ivan Maitin Attorneys recently held an event and donated benches to the Coronation Training Centre (CTC) based in Newlands.

CTC provides specialised education to hundreds of intellectually impaired children and support to their families.

Jason Williams from Ivan Maitin Attorneys said, “We wanted the children and the teachers to know that the community is aware and appreciates all the work they do for the less fortunate. Due to the area of law that we specialise in, we understand the effect that the children’s disabilities have on themselves and their families.”

Williams added that in the past, the firm donated computers to the school which are used to help teach the children. This time the school asked for benches, which are now used around the school to provide places to sit in the shade, relax and share in conversation.

The children were also treated to McDonald’s Happy Meals which the Blackheath branch provided at a discounted rate.

“Our goal is for many other companies to give back to the community, because if they don’t, then who will. A special thank you to McDonald’s Blackheath, the teachers and support staff of CTC will be appreciated,” concluded Williams.
