Tree injures man in Greymont

GREYMONT – Residents helped move some of the tree off of the man.

A man was found pinned under a large tree at 11.30am in Greymont Park (previously known as Carel Venter Park) in Greymont on 3 February.

According to ER24 communication officer Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics responded to the scene where residents had already begun removing parts of the tree off the man. “He sustained serious injuries to the head, chest and arms, we are querying fractures.”

The tree in question seemed to have fallen over from its roots. The man was transported to the Helen Joseph Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
