Planned water interruption for Emmarentia, Parktown and Greenside

EMMARENTIA – Joburg Water plans water service interruption for maintenance on 26 January.

Parktown, Emmarentia and parts of Greenside are going to be affected when Joburg Water implements a planned service interruption for maintenance on 26 January.

It is scheduled from 7am until 7pm.

A statement from Joburg Water said that workers will be tightening an existing water main pipe – size 200mm.

The water restoration will take place between 7pm and 9pm.

It further said the water supply across the City of Joburg is normal, with reservoir levels across the City in a satisfactory position.

Residents are reminded that Level 2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

Level 2 water restrictions, according to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:

• Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 6am and 6pm every day

• Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water and

• Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars, paved areas, and similar activities.

Water saving tips

• Don’t leave taps dripping

• Take shallow baths and

• Use bathwater or grey-water to water the garden.
